Turning the Page... September at MAYS!
Welcome to September, MAYS families! We made it through the hottest month! Thank you to everyone for sticking with us through our recent Executive Board changes, and we hope to see you all at the first General PTO Meeting of the year on Wednesday, September 16th from 8:30-9:30am in the MAYS library. We will be voting on a slate of officers as well as the annual budget. We also will be kicking off our PTO committees! If you can't make it but want to chat, please email us at hello@mayspto.org.
We have two items of note for September that I want to call your attention to off the bat:
Volunteer for the Scholastic Book Fair (Sept. 24-26) We need 6 volunteers to assist with checkout during the Scholastic Book Fair, which takes place at MAYS Sept 24-25 from 2:30-5:30p and Sept 26 from 9:30a-12p. It is a fun, low commitment way to meet new parents and scope out the best books. I volunteered last year and loved it! | |
Attend Our Spirit Night Fundraiser on September 10th We have our first Spirit Night Fundraiser of the year on September 10th. To participate, eat at Mia's Table Bellaire (includes Dine-In, To-Go, and Online orders) then head over to Cosmic Ice Cream for dessert! Both of these amazing spots are giving 20% of their sales on September 10th to the MAYS PTO. Guests must mention the fundraiser name when ordering or picking up. As an added incentive, the classroom with the highest participation in the Spirit Night wins a Cookie & Ice Cream Party delivered by Mia’s! We hope to fill up both restaurants so that our kids can have a great night with their friends while we fundraise for the PTO! | No RSVP needed! Just come, hang out with friends, and eat! |
Warmly,
Nicki Hewell
Interim MAYS PTO President

September Volunteer Spotlight
MAYS has the best community, and we continue to be amazed and thankful for all that it does! This month, we had three amazing community businesses donate their time and efforts to improving the school. Please join us in thanking them!
First up, we want to thank Mayra Marshall (Prints of Bellaire) who printed and donated our new Mays RAISE sponsorship banner! She also was an instrumental part of the 2026 MAYS RAISE Planning Committee.

We also want to thank Robyn Baker (LBWalden Landscaping & Design) for refreshing the sandbox and fixing up the playground path. The kids are loving the freshened up sandbox! Last but not least, Rosewood Trees & Construction donated their time and materials to weed and mulch all of the front beds. Thank you all so much!
Thank You to Palmer Dental Group of Houston for sponsoring the Coffee Bar!

Located off Stella Link and 610, the Palmer Dental Group is a private practice that provides comprehensive dental care for the entire family since 2012. Dr. Palmer delivers high-quality dentistry with a patient-centric approach. He takes great satisfaction in building meaningful relationships with his patients and would love to welcome your family!
$129 for a comprehensive exam, x-rays, and dental cleaning (for patients without periodontal disease)
